Care for animals is worth being possible for every person who gives it.
What we aim at
Petworking targets WCAG 2.2 AA on the marketing site, the storefront, and the pet-parent product. We choose contrast, sizing and touch-target rules from that standard rather than from our own taste, and the design system documents which contrast pairings are permitted on which grounds. Off-palette shades that pass on paper but fail on our cream body colour are retired in the design system, not just recolored on individual pages.
What we already do
- Contrast is measured live in the rendered page, not from source strings, so grounds that alter under overlay or hover are caught.
- Text is a minimum of 11 px anywhere a person is expected to read it.
- Every interactive control is at least 44 × 44 CSS px on mobile boards. The desktop console keeps to the same floor.
- Alternative text is written per photo, not generated. Where an image is decorative, it carries no alt text and the surrounding sentence carries the meaning.
- The pricing page is server-rendered so every price is readable to assistive technology without waiting for JavaScript.
- Keyboard navigation follows document order; focus is visible on every control.
What we do not do yet
- Full French and Welsh localisation for Quebec and Wales is on the launch runway, not shipped.
- Screen-reader hint copy for the more complex console screens (Analytics, Multi-site) is not yet audited end-to-end.
- Reduced-motion preferences are honoured for the splash animation and the marketplace, not yet for every marketing transition.
Report a barrier
If something on Petworking is not usable for you, we want to know. Email kandi@petworking.pet with what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We reply within one business day and track every report against the surface it names.
