Privacy policy

We hold what the product needs to work: who you are, which animals you are responsible for, what you booked and bought, and what your business is licensed to do.

We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we have no AI layer analysing your records.

• Account: name, email, phone, and the sign-in methods you set up.
• Pets: species, breed, age, weight, medical records, vaccinations, licences, permits, certifications and emergency contacts.
• Business: legal entity, locations, services, staff, credentials and the authority that issued each one.
• Money: orders, bookings, refunds, payouts and the movements behind them.
• Activity: Tail-wind sessions, and the route when you turn on Record route. If you allow location all the time, the route keeps recording while your phone is locked and stops when you pause or end the session; nothing else uses your location in the background. A route you share leaves out its first and last 200 metres and any place you mark as private.
• Location: when you allow it, where you are, to show care and places near you. When you send a Tortoise alert, your location goes to the people you alert, and only to them.
• Photos and videos: the ones you choose to add. The app opens your library only through the system picker, one choice at a time.
• Apple Health: if you turn on Save to Apple Health for a Tail-wind walk, run or hike, it is saved to Apple Health on your iPhone as your own workout. Petworking reads back only the workouts it saved there, so a session is never saved twice, and reads nothing else from Health. Nothing from Health is sent to us, used for analytics or used for advertising.
• Security: sign-ins, device and approximate location, permission changes and payout account changes. This log is append-only and kept for 24 months.
• Technical: the device and browser you used, for security and for fixing faults.

The owner, anyone in their household they add, and each business the owner has granted fields to. Grants are per business and per field.

Petworking staff can see records only where a support session or an investigation requires it. Every such view is written to the audit log with the staff member's name, and the business or owner can see that it happened.

• To run the service you asked for: taking a booking, taking a payment, holding a record.
• To meet a legal obligation, such as keeping transaction records.
• To keep the network safe: verifying credentials, investigating a report, preventing fraud.

A small number of providers process data on our behalf, under contract, for payment processing, file storage, email and SMS delivery, error reporting and product analytics.

Each provider may use the data only to deliver that service to us. None of them may sell it or use it for advertising.

Records stay while your account is open. When you delete it, deletion runs on day 14.

What was only yours is deleted then: your sign-in, your profile, and your household's own walks, Spots, posts, private photos, messages with other households and the records you wrote yourself.

What a business holds about your household is closed and kept for five years: bookings, orders, payments, packages, rewards, classes, messages with businesses, care updates, visit feedback, stamps and every record a business wrote. A business you owned alone is closed rather than deleted: it leaves the marketplace, nobody can sign in to it, and it is kept whole for the same five years. Five years after the closure, everything kept is deleted.

If no business ever dealt with your household, everything is deleted on day 14. The security log is kept for 24 months.

You can export everything we hold about you and your animals, at any tier, without paying. You can correct anything that is wrong. You can ask us to delete your account.

Deletion removes what was only yours on day 14. What businesses hold about your household is kept for five years, then deleted.

Petworking accounts are for adults. A minor can appear on an account as a household member set up by the account holder.

The Petworking crest, a heart enclosing a paw print, is by Ker'is, licensed from Noun Project. It appears on the app icon, the passport covers and the passport crest window.

The animal prints that fill the crest and mark species across the passport and Feed are by fauzin idea and further creators, licensed from Noun Project.

The Petworking wordmark is the founder's own artwork. Space Grotesk and IBM Plex Mono are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. M PLUS U, used for Japanese, is licensed under the SIL Open Font License.

Privacy questions go through Report a problem in the app or at petworking.pet, and a person answers them.

You can also complain to the privacy regulator in your country.
