Identity
Name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, colour and markings, microchip, tattoo, registry and tag IDs, and the household or guardian who holds it.
The Pet Passport
A record that belongs to the animal.
Every professional who cares for your pet reads the same passport, and it goes with you when you change any of them. Free at every tier, permanently, for up to three animals.
It is the layer everything else hangs off. Bookings reference it, professionals write to it, rescues transfer it on adoption, and it is the reason a groomer already knows your dog is nervous of the dryer.
And right now, the first 100 Pet Parents get Founder free for life.
Six kinds of record, one animal. Anything a professional writes lands here with their name against it.
Name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, colour and markings, microchip, tattoo, registry and tag IDs, and the household or guardian who holds it.
Vaccinations, medical encounters, diagnoses, conditions, allergies, medications, prescriptions, procedures, surgeries, lab results, weight, dental history and discharge instructions.
Municipal licences, registrations, permits, working-animal credentials, travel documentation and vaccination certificates. Records that belong to the animal rather than to a business.
Feeding instructions, diet, handling notes, temperament, grooming requirements, training notes and emergency instructions, so the next person does not have to be told twice.
Visits, stamps, purchases, travel, locations, spending and the businesses that have cared for the animal, in date order, added to and never rewritten.
For species where the environment is the care: tank chemistry, enclosure temperature, humidity, UVB, substrate and maintenance intervals. A habitat is its own record, not a note.
The hard part of a shared record is not storage. It is deciding who may do what, and being able to say so plainly.
The household decides, per professional. A groomer sees what they need for the animal in front of them. Nobody gets everything by default.
Follows the credential, never the role. A groomer can record a weight. A vaccination needs a practice on the veterinary register, so this is the fact that decides it rather than a job title.
The household. A business keeps its own visit history, charges and staff notes; the household keeps the animal’s record. Neither side can overwrite the other.
A household can dispute a professional record, and the dispute is a new line. A verified record is never silently rewritten, so the original stays visible above the correction.
Every one of those is enforced on the server. Hiding a field in an app is not permission, so a request that should not be answered is refused wherever it comes from.
Several products call themselves a pet passport. These are the distinctions that matter, including the two where the honest answer is not yet.
A Petworking Pet Passport does not replace a government-issued pet passport yet. We organize it all in one place for you to have ready at any time.
Organizes everything for you, the underlying facts: what is recorded, what expires before your travel date, and what the destination asks for.
A folder of PDFs is storage. This is a record with your pets real life: every line names the place, the authority, your imports, your household, and the up to date data on your loved one.
The animal is the center of the universe. Change groomer, change city, change vet, and the record does not need to be rebuilt. It stays up to date with you.
No Pet Health Score, no wellness rating, no risk figure. Those are inference dressed as a number. Petworking shows the measurements and who recorded them. We leave diagnosis to the professionals.
Records are free with or without Pet Parent OS, permanently, and exportable in full. Pet Parent OS analyses this data. It never controls access to it.
Species is an extensible taxonomy and no animal is recorded as Other. A rabbit carries RHDV2 and myxomatosis. A ferret carries distemper. A reptile carries shed history and enclosure temperature.
Founder does not make your records more yours. They were already yours. It gives the first 100 Pet Parents the paid Pet Parent experience free for life.
Each passport carries a country in two forms and a number that already exists in a government-readable register. The alpha-3 code is human readable, the numeric is the machine one, and the number itself is the animal’s microchip.
CAN is ISO 3166 alpha-3, 124 is the numeric for Canada, and 985 is the ISO 11784 manufacturer prefix on the chip. Nothing here is invented for Petworking, which is the point: a record that might one day move into a governmental system cannot use a private numbering scheme.
Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan. The scheme carries them already: CAN124, USA840, GBR826, AUS036, with no change to the record.
Field labels are per issuing country, not a fixed string. A Canadian passport prints Name / Nom. A Kenyan one prints Hati ya kusafiri.
A name and a species is enough to make a passport. Everything else can be added by you, or by a professional you book, whenever it turns up.
