What to have ready
- A read only Franpos API key for the stores you run
- The Franpos store number of each store
- Each store already added as a location in Petworking
Step by step
- 01Make a read only keyIn Franpos, open Settings, Developer, Get API, and create a read only key for the stores you run.
- 02Paste it into PetworkingSign in to Petworking on the web, open your business, then Account, Connected systems. Choose Connect Franpos, then paste the key and your Franpos store numbers.
- 03Match your storesMatch each Franpos store to its Petworking location. A store that is not matched has no stock brought across, so nothing lands on the wrong shelf.
- 04Choose how far backPick the date your sales history should come back to. History is read in 30 day windows over several runs, and picks up where it left off.
- 05Review the first importProducts and stock, customers and past sales are held for you to check. Nothing is applied until you approve it.
- 06Then let it runOnce a batch has been applied you can switch on the hourly sync, or keep reviewing each import.
Questions
Does Petworking replace Franpos?
No. Franpos stays your point of sale. Petworking reads from it and sends nothing back.
Does Franpos history count as Petworking revenue?
No. Your sales overview keeps three things apart: history brought across from Franpos, sales you made directly, and sales Petworking generated.
What if my key is revoked?
The connection stops at once and says so in Connected systems. Make a new read only key and paste it in to resume.
Is anything applied before I see it?
No. Every first import is held for you to review: customers, animals, products, stock and past sales, each row as it will land. Nothing is written until you apply it, and a row you leave out stays out.
Will importing contact my customers?
No. Importing never emails or texts anyone. Inviting imported customers is a separate step you choose, and it follows Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL): only customers who bought from you in the last two years are invited, and anyone who has said no is left out.
Do I pay commission on customers I bring across?
No. A customer you imported carries no marketplace commission. The 7% applies only to a transaction Petworking generated, and history brought across from another system never carries commission.
What happens if I sync again?
Records already brought across are updated, never added twice. After your first import is applied you can let Petworking sync every hour, or keep reviewing each import yourself.
Where is my key kept?
Encrypted on Petworking’s servers and scoped to your business alone. It is never shown in the app or sent to your browser, and disconnecting removes it.
Can I disconnect?
Yes, at any time from Connected systems. Disconnecting stops every sync. What was already brought across stays in Petworking as your records.
